Prayer for Revival
What is revival? Revival means “to live again.” A believer is no more able to renew his own spirit or revive the Church than a sinner is able to regenerate his own soul. The gift of spiritual life is God’s to give, and He gives it often, all over world; but during times of revival, He gives it in unusual amounts. Why? So that more believers will give more evidence of God’s saving power and more sinners will believe and be saved. Although revival is God’s to send and His to stop, we must raise our sails to catch the wind of the Spirit once it blows from heaven.
Before COVID-19 became a global pandemic and a public health crisis, the following pastors agreed to organize churches in Norfolk County to pray for revival:
Raymond Thompson (retired, Emmanuel Bible Church, Simcoe)
Marc Bertrand (Walsh Baptist Church)
Andrew Bunner (Villa Nova Baptist Church)
Rather than delay our cause, we believe that the current pandemic makes it all the more necessary to seek God for revival and all the more probable that He will send it. Wherever you live, we invite you to pray with us this Wednesday evening at 7:00 PM. Though we can’t meet in the same place, we all meet in the same person – Christ Jesus. Though we can’t pray in the same place, we can pray in the same Spirit.
May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Romans 15:5-6)
